#HunterMoonBookTour Review and Excerpt- FANTASTIC book.

Hunter Moon (Lupine Moon Series) by Cait Lavender

Bawling cattle tore Shelby Flint from her bed. With lawyer fees to pay in her struggle to keep her ranch from the clutches of her greedy cousins, she couldn’t afford the loss of even one calf. When she sees a large wolf circling her cows, she aims and fires.

While the wolf escapes, Shelby can’t seem to get away from her troubles when a marijuana grower sets up shop on her land, sabotaging her property and eventually coming after her. Adding to that, a handsome game warden is poking his nose into her business and working his way underneath her skin. Shelby will have to fight harder than she ever fought before to keep from losing heart and everything she ever loved.

To start off, I LOVED this book. I have read A LOT of different kinds of supernatural books. With out giving too much away this is the first werewolf book I have read in a long time that actually caught my interest. It has a fast pace, it has likable well written characters and a fantastic story line. I am really not big on the mainstream “romance-supernatural” typical books. I like a little bit of romance but not so much that it’s overwhelming the story itself. I loved the romance in this book because it flowed with the story, it seemed appropriate to the timeline.

I finished work early one night {which is HIGHLY unusual} and I had just received this e-book to review. In a rare moment I turned on my Nook and I figured I’d take advantage of this little bit of time to start a few chapters before I headed to bed. This was around 10 pm.  I started reading and the next thing I knew it was 3 am. 3 AM!!! That never happens to me anymore. I haven’t been that wrapped up in a book since the last Dresden Files book came out.

I am absolutely in love with Shelby. She is my kind of gal.  A single, cattle roping, horse riding, hay baling ranchess doing it on her own. Fiercely independent. Sarcastic. Love her.

Have I peaked your interest? Read this excerpt and see for yourself:

I was expecting Jesse, so I had a giant grin on my face when I opened the door. There was Mr. Big-Hunk himself in the flesh, still jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Was it just me or did he just get hotter? Because of the cold woosh of outside air when I opened the door, and the hot guy, I was cutting glass. I felt the tell-tale burn in my cheeks as I crossed my arms, hopping to hide the evidence poking through the thin barrier of my worn, white tee.

Cash’s stunned face would’ve been funny if I had been in a position to appreciate it. As it was, a horrible, hot blush ran from my face down to my chest. His eyes took in my blush, boxers, bunny slippers and lack of a bra in one sweep. His eyebrows nearly disappeared into his hair as a wide Cheshire-cat grin crept over his face. Those baby blues glowed with mischief.

“Wow, what a welcome. I just came back to give you my card, in case another big bad wolf came around, but—” he said leaving the invitation open.

He rocked back on his heels and rubbed his chin. The grin split wider as he observed me caught speechless in fury and mortification. Cash handed me his card, which I quickly ripped out of his hand and slammed the door in his face. His chuckle faded along with his footsteps on the gravel.

I can not wait until Cait releases the next one. I think I have found a new favorite series. 🙂
