My review:
What a cliffhanger!!!! This book definitely keeps you wanting more, I can’t wait to read this second book. I totally forgot that I was reading a YA book. I know that it is geared towards the older teen so that might be why. Gareth is a cranky, ill mannered pain in the butt. He is mysteriously disabled, not one doctor can figured out why and it makes his disposition something less than desirable. Being a really cranky person myself, I felt a kinship with Gareth. I really liked the way that the whole story was set up and how Gareth and “the heiress” meet. It’s a cute relationship to witness developing and I like how much it took Gareth by surprise that some one actually likes him besides his younger aunt.
This story is a really cool mix of steampunk, fantasy, paranormal and romance. One could say it’s very whimsical. I love the new steampunk trend and I hope it stays. It’s my favorite genre besides paranormal. This book has it all!
