My review:
This book is very different from Devyn’s other books. I am not a fan of YA books as a rule but I really have liked Devyn’s YA books so I was really interested to see how her writing style would transfer over to NA. Normally when I read a description of a NA and they say ” CLEAN New Adult – No Hard Core Cussing – No Sexual Scenes” I roll my eyes. Every one I have read that declared that off the bat never quite captured my interest. Mostly because the authors try SO hard not to add an adult element that it becomes basically a YA with 19 year olds.
I am so glad I took the chance and read Killing Me Softly. My gamble on reading it paid off and I was treated to a coming of age/ love story. The book is about resilience, friendship and love. I really liked that the author didn’t sugarcoat anything and you were right in the thick of things. Tate is a well crafted and developed character. I couldn’t find fault in the story at all and as usual with Devyn’s books, excited to read the next installment.
