The Silver Cross
There are two things Boston detective Lacey Gardner knows about killing vampires. Slicing off a head or a hit directly to the heart are the only surefire ways to kill one. Silver is their Achilles heel. A vampire never wears silver.
When she meets bartender extraordinaire, Damon Harte, her heart does a quickstep for the dark hunky guy. She’s learned the hard way that having a love interest in her line of work can be heart-wrenching. She’s kept to herself for years, but something about Damon captivates her and draws her to him. When she learns Damon’s devastating secret, she knows what she has to do: kill the man who has stolen her heart.

My review:
Just when I thought I was SO over vampire stories. The Silver Cross is a fantastically written story that just happens to have vampires in it. Lacey is a strong female lead character that knows what she wants, when she wants it and who she wants it with. This way of life for this Boston cop has gotten her in trouble once or twice. As a member of “the Fringe”, a covert division of the Boston police, her job is to take down the nasties in Boston, supernatural nastiness. Her sister was taken by one of these nasties and Lacey has made it her mission to take down all of them. Her heart has been closed until the night she meets Damon on a fact finding mission connected to local girls being brutally killed. It’s love at first sight for both of them, but his secret is always at the surface, waiting to implode the whole relationship.
One of my favorite things about the book is the attention to detail about the Boston area. Living in MA and RI for 17 years I know the area well. It made the whole book so real, I could envision where they were in the city. It was an awesome bonus to an already great book. My only criticism is that I think the book ended a little early! Fantastic read for a paranormal lover!

Jen, thank you so much for such an awesome review! I’m so glad you could identify with the Boston landscape – that’s so cool! I’m working on the outline for the next book so there will be plenty more of Lacey, Damon, Cole and Jackson!
I hope that you’ll post your review on amazon so others may see it! Thank you again!!!
I definitely will. I post all my reviews on Amazon on Fridays. 🙂
