They say home is where the heart is, but if that’s true, then I’m lost because I have no clue where my heart is, anymore. I thought I knew—until I met Maximillian.

I was on my way out of the Capital City before the local vampires could catch on to me and let’s just say if that happened then this club dancer would be facing her expiration date. And that’s when the famous DJ blew into town—and into my head and heart. He turned all my plans upside down with his sick friend and his electric blue eyes, damn it.

I should have cut bait and run for my life, but I couldn’t abandon someone I could heal—even if it meant the vampires might catch up with me. Besides, Maximillian smelled familiar, like deep forest and pine needles baked in the sun mixed with that chilly snap of running water and the coolness of twilight. Those things have a smell that adds up to a dream.

You can get lost in that kind of dream. It can fill your mind with ideas and notions you have no business thinking or feeling. Dreams like that make it easy to forget the danger you’re in.

Between incubi, humate dealing trolls, and a vampire who sends all my circuits into overload, I’m going to be lucky if I get out of this town in one piece. They call it the city of brotherly love, but those are not the words that come to mind when I roll into town as part of the Maximillian crew. Feuding brothers is more like it. And isn’t it always the way–when I finally have one patient healed, now I’ve got another one on my hands. And I’m all out of healing energy.

That means I need to bag a much bigger catch and figure out what’s wrong with my sick fae, all while trying to worm my way out of the middle of a troll-vampire feud. Someone’s going to die tonight and I hope like hell its not me.

StarLandStarLand

Sex slaves, insatiable masters, and curse wielding gypsies are just a few of the disturbing things growing in the Garden State. In the midst of all that, I’ve got to figure out what’s ailing Lelani—a stage name if I’ve ever heard one—before one particularly nasty vampire catches up with me.

What was I thinking hooking up with a DJ and his crew when my demons could literally get us all killed? Duh, I wasn’t. Max’s musical magnetism overrode my common sense and this dangerous game could cost me my freedom. Sometimes, even I doubt my sanity.

My review:

It’s no secret I am a HUGE fan of anything Melissa Lummis writes. She has a way of writing so that it gets in your head and traps you in the characters world. I was SUPER happy when I heard Fiamette was getting her own series. She was one of my favorite characters in the Love and Light series. So far I have not been disappointed. There’s awesome steam, humor and a meaty story. Fia finds herself in quite a few predicaments. Some make you laugh, other’s make you hold your breath and hope she comes out alive. Her banter with Max and Dee is probably my favorite parts of the books. Fia is so torn from being the bad/good guy (girl). She needs life force to live but uses vampires to get it. Morality is a fine line for her. This is such a kick-ass series. I didn’t think it was possible but I think I like it even more than Love and Light. The stories just keep getting better and better. The sarcastic wit and humor just sucks me in. One of my favorite quotes is from Electric. It from a conversation between Dee and Fia when he comes to pick her up on his monster of a motorcycle:

Dee: “Need a ride pretty lady?”

Fia: “Depends on where you’re going.”

Dee: “To hell in a bucket, babe.”

Epic.

New!

The Big Apple is the next stop on the Maximillian Dubstep tour, and I’m about to bite off more than I can chew. A new friend is asking for the kind of help I’m not sure I can give. Saving his dying son is going to cost me, but I’d do it in a heartbeat if my life were the only price. But, I’m about to learn that there are worse things than dying. Falling in love, for one.

I’ve faced blood, pain, and even excruciating loneliness, but nothing has prepared me for the choices I’m about to make. Death? Pfft. Child’s play.

Love is a far scarier thing.

melissaAbout the Author

I consider myself a truth seeker, a peaceful warrior, an avid reader, a thru-hiker GA?ME ’98, a Penn Stater, a wife, a mother, and a free thinker. I believe the universe conspires to help an adventurer. And if we live our lives as if it is a daring adventure (and it is!), then everything we need will find its way to us.
My books have been described as new age suspense in a fantasy setting, but they are also straight up Paranormal Romance. I’ve written and self-published two novels so far, Enlightened and Samskaras, books one and two respectively in the Love and Light Series. The last book in the series, Samadhi, is scheduled for release November 30, 2013.

I live in rural Virginia with my husband, two children, an Alaskan Malamute, and a myriad of forest creatures. The nature of my mind dictates that I write to stay sane. Otherwise, my fertile imagination takes off on tangents of its own accord, creating scenarios and worlds that confuse the space-time continuum. Namaste, dear friends.
