The Guilty Innocent is an addicting, sexy, mystery that’s very hard to put down. D.N. Simmons crafts a fast paced world where the supernatural works and plays in one of my favorite cities, Chicago. I was in love with the first book Desires Unleashed and Natasha is one of my favorite female characters I have read in awhile. In this book she travels from Chicago to Russia in an attempt to clear ONE of her vampire boyfriends, Darien. A rival group has set him up to take the fall for a murder he didn’t commit. The murder itself hits close to home and propels Natasha to finds the real murderer and exact her revenge. Vampires have 7 days to clear themselves (in this book supernaturals are known to regular humans) or they meet the true death. It’s a huge race against time and it makes for a fantastic, action packed, well written supernatural story. It has a love triangle, mobsters, shifters and of course vampires. Supernatural lovers like me will be thoroughly entertained with this story.
