I have very conflicted thoughts about this book. It was really well written. It was a little slow for me in the beginning, I think there was a lot of backstory- maybe too much, but it picked up and was off running. It became a fast paced peek into the underbelly of human morality. Cameron was a self pitying, weak willed, guy you really wanted to hate. Just as you started to like him and even feel empathy for him, he would make another questionable choice that would blow your mind. It is amazing to me that someone who has such a “seemingly” charmed life spiral so completely out of control. In a quest to feel a little less alone after yet another relationship gone awry, Cameron starts allowing a little much communication and contact with a student. That simple choice makes him a character straight out of a tabloid worthy headline. While shocking, the book is definitely worth the read. Mystery lovers will eat it up.
