My review:
Just when I think it’s just not possible for Olivia Cunning to write yet another band that I completely fall in love with, she writes Insider. The best part about ALL of her books is that they are linked together. You always get a taste of what your favorite characters are up to and who they are up to it with.
I completely and totally love the chemistry between Logan and Toni. It was instant, wild and passionate. Even though it’s quite frequently far fetched, the idea of the good-girl, bad boy pairing is one of my favorites. Honestly, I don’t read these books for reality. I read them as an escape into a world that is fast, sexy and hardcore. Any of Olivia’s books fall into these categories. Insider was quickly a favorite of mine because it reminded me a bit of Backstage Pass.
Logan is hard and crunchy on the outside, soft and mushy on the inside. Toni is just mushy. She’s sheltered, innocent and quite introverted – this part I can totally relate to. Logan is used to getting what he wants, Toni is used to never getting what she wants and working her ass off for what she has. I loved watching her transition from meek little mouse to hard ass rocker girlfriend. When you see (read) a person so wrapped up in others finally take something for herself and indulge it’s fantastic. Watching Logan who is always doing things for himself and soooo narcissistic find himself totally, utterly worried about one person’s happiness other than his own, it makes you fall completely in love with him. The reason Toni is so in love with him jumps off the page and hooks you. I can not wait for the next book in the series. I definitely have a new band to obsess over. My one-click finger will be busy.
Another part of the book that was an awesome one was the little sub-plot of the Trey-Ethan-Reagan trio. I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to them when their book Double Time ended because Trey was always one of my favorite band characters from Sinners and then when Reagan and Ethan came into the picture I was so enamored with them.
Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, USA Today Best-Selling Author Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians.
Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She’s been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction — first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own.
