Tactical, lethal, resolute.
Haunted by a centuries-old tragedy, there’s no room in Arawn’s life for softness. Every action he takes is for the betterment of his race and the good of the realm. He leads his elite band of warriors the same way he lives his life: full on, without compromise, determined. Except for one sexy female who happens to be his subordinate.

Tenacious, passionate, tough-as-steel.
Ria relishes the duties Arawn assigns her as much as she respects the deadly combatants on her team. And she has a secret: her formidable boss is also her deepest fantasy. Years of working under his authority haven’t dulled the spark she feels, yet her passion is tempered by the hints of loss she gathers about him. His dark and sexy moodiness draws her, but he’s a hard man to approach as he keeps the world at emotional arm’s length.

Secrets laced in blood burn his battle-hardened soul.
When Ria is gravely injured in the line of duty, Arawn can no longer fight his own long-simmering feelings. But a secret, more heinous and ugly than anyone could imagine, prevents him from surrendering his heart. Despite his intentions, he and Ria forge a connection both fiery and unexpectedly tender. Yet every day brings them closer to shocking facts. Evil stirs in his blood, and hiding the truth from her will be the ultimate betrayal.

My review:

I honestly cannot get enough of the Solsti series or the spin offs. This new series A Watcher's Kiss is just as fantastic as the Solsti series. It picks up were Wicked Ground left off.

I love being able to view this side of Torth. Two super beings, Lash Demons to be exact, have been and currently are fighting this intense attraction between the two of them. Arwan is dealing with a long ago mating that didn't end well and Ria is fighting off her long hidden SUPER crush on Arwan. She knows he has a painful past and respects it but her attraction to Arwan becomes harder to ignore when she wakes up from a grave injury she received in the battle against Elegia and he's there and has been the whole time she has been unconcious. How do you ignore that?

I don't know how the author does it but she is a master at writing these sexy alpha males that have the softest hearts. Some of the scenes between Ria and Arwan give you goosebumps. They are so fantastically written that I wish some of the contemporary writers would take a cue from her. I would read more of it were it written like this.  I think even if you weren't a huge paranormal reader you could enjoy this story. It's a fantastic love story that just happens to be set in another dimension. Seriously.

I haven't even mentioned the action in this book. It's so absorbing and you find yourself wrapped up in the battles. I actually found myself cringing at certain parts. I feel like the characters of Torth are old friends and I don't like it when things happen to them!

I was a bit sad that the Solsti series was ending but I should've know Ms Kay wouldn't leave us hanging. I have a new set of alpha males and kick-ass female lead characters to follow. Seriously if you start reading this make sure you have time set aside. You won't want to put it down. I don't say that about a lot of books. You don't have to read the Solsti series before you read this but if you have time, please do. They are crazy good.
