Plugged: A Rewind Agency Novel ~ Jill Cooper #bookReview

As we’re thrown back into Lara Crane Montgomery’s life we have to wonder along with her… is this real? Did Lara do the right thing going back in time and saving her mother; giving up everything she had ever known and loved, her father… Rick. It makes you wonder if you went back in time to change one thing to save someone and the outcome changed everyone’s lives, some for the worse, would you go back to that moment and let what you did unravel the way it was supposed to? Would you be able to give up the things and people you know cared for?

Plugged shows not only has Lara grown up with the trauma and horror she’s seen and been through but the story itself has also grown and matured in writing. Focused on righting all the things that went wrong when she selfishly went back in time to save her mother and alter the universe throwing away anyone who had meant anything to her, Lara looks at the changes in her world and accepts them and knows she couldn’t go back and loose the things she’s gained and lost; now she knows she has to save the world from the horrors she’s suffered.

Jill Cooper created a sequel that really hooks you right away, showing that Lara is more than just a teenager concerned with changing her world to make her happy; gone is the Lara struggling with which boy she should choose. With so many twist and turns in the story I was always kept not only on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next or what some of the characters real intentions were but I also found myself questioning what was real and what was the altered reality along with Lara. The only thing I wonder is what Lara’s life must have been like before her first time travel, there is the whole dynamic with her father and Rick that we never get to become a part of but this isn’t something that bothers me enough to make it a negative point to either 15 Minutes of Plugged. I could gush on and on about how amazing this story was but I would be afraid of spoiling something and I think one of the most amazing points of the story was that I never knew what was coming. It was an amazing sequel and I would be beyond excited and thrilled if the story continued!

Lara Crane is stuck in her mind, in an indefinite stream of timelines where her life is perfect, just the way she wants it to be. But it’s not real. It’s all made up to give those who want to use time travel for their own personal ambitions. To give time to finish their experiments and turn Lara into a deadly time travel assassin.

If Lara wants to survive and to stop them, she needs to risk her own mind and soul to get out of a prison so perfect it completes the one dream Lara has always had.

jillcooperAbout the Author:

I could write this in the third person. I could tell you what I like, where I was born, and what my favorite things are.

But instead, I’ll say I don’t want to write like everyone else. I don’t want to craft stories you’ve read a thousand times before. I want my novels to be a cinematic experience, blending themes, genres, and situations unlike any you’ve ever read.

I want to break the rules. I want you to break out in a cold sweat as you read my books out of fear, love, and excitement. I want my books to be an experience. When you finish, I want you to feel something. Good or bad.

If you do, then I’ll have succeeded. If not, I’ll keep trying.
