By Gail Bridges

genre: erotica

intended for people age 18+

Angela and her brand-new husband Josh have just arrived at their honeymoon destination, a romantic bed-and-breakfast hotel on the breath-taking Washington coast – the Inn on the Edge.

But everything isn’t as it seems. The lessons that come free with the room aren’t for painting the lovely coastal scenery – the lessons are for better sex. Angie and Josh, shocked and titillated, immerse themselves in every sensual offering. It doesn’t take long for things to go horribly wrong. The discover that the old man running the place is a sex demon, who has been stealing their sensual energy. Worse, he’s dangerously in love with Angie and he has plans for her – plans involving an heirloom wedding ring.

My review:

I was at a loss for words when I tried to write this review. I loved this book so much I couldn’t find words that justified how I felt about this book.

Angie and her husband Josh we brand-dandy new married and decided to take a interesting, daring honeymoon to a unknown place that Josh found on the internet. As they pulled up the inn where they book a reservation,  it looked straight out of a creepy horror movie. Despite Josh’s gut feeling that they should turn it around book it right out of there, they enter the inn and their life is never the same. Greeted by a crotchety old man, Angie and Josh fight their fight or flight instinct and allow the old man to ensnare them and end up in a fantasy tower room that is WAY too good to be true. Joined by 3 other couples at a crazy breakfast the next day they all become way too “familiar” with each other quickly. They meet their guides for the duration of the trip and start their honeymoon. The most peculiar part of their stay at the inn is that they are locked in at night. Josh is severely claustrophobic and hates locked door but for some reason becomes “ok” with the fact that are locked in. Way out of character.

From that very first night on, the somewhat humdrum couple are caught up in temptation after temptation. Be it sumptuous food, naughty interactions with people, or with each other. The atmosphere at Inn on the Edge is a hedonistic, frantic, pleasure filled carnival of sin. Mr. Adiba (the crotchety old man) is a creepy, perverted old man that seems to have a hold on all of the couples at the inn and somehow has them all under an enchantment. Every time someone voices any type of resistance, for example leaving, questioning Mr. Adiba or anything that goes against what they are being  told , Mr. Adiba is quick to put them back on the tumultuous path.  All the couples are happy, complacent and easily influenced. It’s completely out of character for all of them .

Each couple is artistic in some way. Angie is a painter, Josh plays the guitar, others are crafters, dancers etc. Mr. Adiba makes each of the couple’s dream come true with showcasing their gifts to the other couples and giving them gifts to further their art. As you are reading the book you are at the end of your seat waiting for one of them to snap out of it, but they just don’t. None of them care. None of them notice. None of them remember. The just accept it, accept the gifts and just keep getting further and further drawn in. It’s not until one of the guides starts hinting and guiding Angie to the conclusion that Mr. Adiba isn’t what he seems that the spell seems to begin to crack. You will be astonished when it’s finally revealed just what Mr. Adiba is…….

I could go on and on but basically, it’s one of the better eroticas I have ever read. It has something for everyone. It has guides that assist the couple and lots of interesting tools. It’s spooky, mysterious, spicy, hot and downright mind bending. Gail has such a way with words and is an excellent storyteller. At times I forgot that I was reading. I was completely drawn in and connected with the characters. Inn on the Edge is a must read.

About the author

I have three grown children. I live in Seattle, Washington with my husband and our five cats.

In the past I have worked in a variety of different artistic media. I have a BFA in painting from the University of Washington, and  for over fifteen years I made award-winning Fine Art Jewelry (silver and handmade ceramics) and sold my work at local and regional Fine Art and Craft shows. My business, Vivid Arts, flourished – but always, I felt driven to write. Two years ago, no longer able to deny the writing muse, I took an open-ended sabbatical from my art shows. Since then, I’ve written two novels and a number of published and unpublished short stories.
