My review:

I didn’t realize just how much I was jonesing for a good ghost story. Ever have a book that just hooked you from the get go? I am literally astonished that this was a newly published author. She is super descriptive but not in an annoying way. I was able to visualize clearly the backdrop of the book….the tree, the leaves, the Victorian apartment where Carly and her fiance lived. Valerie has a way of not doing the information dump “trap” that most new authors fall in.

Carly is a typical girl. She is a graphic designer, she’s planning a wedding and has some pretty awesome friends. Her life is normal. Perfect almost. She lives in her dream house with her dream guy and is pretty much loving life. A fateful impromptu picnic changes all of that and Carly is thrown into a new reality of trying not to go crazy, convincing people she is not crazy plus trying to figure out if the blackouts she is having are actually visions or just a psychotic break.

This story is fantastic. I haven’t read a ghost story in awhile that I just got wrapped up in. I am truly looking forward to reading whatever else the author releases. I just followed her on Amazon to make sure I know! I don’t gush much about a book and I read a lot of books so it takes a lot to catch my attention. I am so glad I actually signed up to review the book. Grab a copy. Read it on a rainy day snuggled in a blanket. You’ll get chills and love it.
