My Mark of the Witch review {book one}

My review:

In a change of pace from Mark of the Witch I actually found Patrick likable. I won’t say why (spoiler) but I did. It’s almost a story about redemption and forgiveness. Almost.

This story left off a few months after the epic battle with Sabine and her minions. Life has gone on for the two sisters, for the most part. Jilly is starting to experience more emergence of power, Caroline is embracing her powers plus finally acquiring her divorce and William is contemplating his future with Jilly.

Jilly begins to have dreams of a little girl who seems to be reaching out to her asking for help. She sees her in the same place every time. She finally talks to the girl who introduces herself as Hannah. Jilly recognizes Big Ben in the background of the dream so she and William take off to London in search of the girl. In the meantime Caroline, officially divorced, starts seeing a man that will potentially tear her family apart and has ties to Hannah. After safely finding Hannah and getting her back to the States Jilly and Caroline’s live get put in overdrive as they discover a threat to not only themselves but pretty much everyone in their lives. It’s interesting reading how the two sisters fight to put their differences aside for the common good. Chasing is a fantastic book beginning to end and I enjoyed it even more than the first. The Proctor sisters have now found their way in to my heart and I am dying to see what’s next. Since Chasing has a delightfully infuriating cliffhanger (my favorite kind) I am counting the days until the next book. Fantastic, a must read.
